Welcome! You are about to start the Bat Box Trail, which is a short hike through the main part of Tanah Keeta Scout Reservation. Along the trail, you will travel to 10 different locations, each the spot of a bat box. At each location you will learn more about bats, the Florida ecosystem, and conservation methods by scanning the QR code which will take you to a tab on this website. If you are an online visitor and not actually at Tanah Keeta, please feel free to follow along through the tabs, as this website was designed to accommodate both types of visitors.

For in person visitors: If there is trouble with cell service, internet connection, or phone accessibility, there are paper copies of this information and trail guide in the Camp Masters' cabin. If there is not a Camp Master on site, you can also request a copy from the camp ranger.

Please stay away from the bat houses, and take any trash or other objects with you as you hike. Remember: Take only pictures, leave only footprints.

Also, please fill out the survey found at the end of this trail, (located in the End Survey tab) as it is a part of the Girl Scout Gold Award which helped establish this trail.

Now, head west down the main path and go to Fort Blanchard, as you approach, go up the hill on the south side of the Fort and look for a palm tree with a bat box in it. That's your first stop. Have fun!

Thank you!
